Treatment Oriented Massage Therapy For Healing

Whether the pain you are experiencing is physical or emotional, I strive to restore both harmony within your body and symmetrical function: left to right, front to back, inside to outside. My goal of helping clients improve posture, range of motion, and balance, has led me to develop an integrated, treatment-oriented style of massage.

Rather than diving straight into treatment and reactively pursuing your pain, I first observe how you are moving and your body’s non-verbal communication. Paired with the information you share with me, this helps me discover the root of your discomfort. Experience has proven that focusing on the whole self and treating the roots of imbalance, rather than the symptoms, is the foundation for living a strong, healthy, and productive life.

Through my twenty-four years as a massage therapist, I have developed knowledge and skill in a number of treatment modalities. In each session, I utilize techniques from a variety of these, culminating in a customized treatment. I implement myofascial release techniques, trigger point therapy methods, active release strategies, as well as craniosacral therapy for each client as their needs dictate. I strive to create the best approach for you rather than trying to fit you into a standardized bodywork session.

Massage Modalities

Therepeutic Massage

This type of massage is a gentle intervention that aids the body in self-repair and instructs the body in finding ease of movement and alignment after an injury. Injury can be traumatic and sudden, as with whiplash, a muscle tear, or surgery. It can also be subtle and occur over time, as with wear-and-tear, repetitive stress, and poor structural alignment. Therapeutic massage, which includes superficial, myofascial, and deep tissue manipulation, can assist in the repair of any sort of injury.

Structural Integration

A form of hands-on manipulation and movement that addresses release, realignment, and balance of the whole body, Structural Integration improves posture, increases range of motion, reduces pain, and improves overall vitality. More...

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain, anxiety, dysfunction, and improve whole-body health and performance. A whole-body CST treatment focuses on the core, the central nervous system, and all body systems that are affected by it. The basis of this gentle work is precision and informed intention, and proves the theory that exerting more effort doesn’t make better therapy. More...

Gentle Work With Cancer Patients & Survivors

A diagnosis of cancer and the treatment protocols can be one of life's most stressful experiences. Chronic and acute stress have been proven to reduce immune function and perpetuate many chronic health challenges, but massage can help stress reduction, scar tissue mobilization, and pain reduction. Comfort and reassurance received through touch is one of our most basic needs.

I provide a variety of positive effects through massage; my clients’ testimonies suggest that there are many benefits beyond these that are enjoyed by people at all stages of the cancer journey. This is an area of treatment that means a lot to me, and I bring compassion, understanding, and support to your larger treatment plan.
